Hello fellow knitters, crafters, sewers and hip domestic readers!
It has a been a longg while since my last entry and I do apologize.. life has unfortunately gotten in the way.And so has the weather!! It has been such a downer for me with all the snow storms one after another! Only 57 more days of winter dear friends.. I have been keep busying with cooking and entertaining and schooling as well… I made potato leek soup last week that was rather delicious! It was however my first time cooking with leeks.. i know, i know you all must be thinking but it was! Leeks are in the onion family and taste like a subdued scallion.. it was rather delicious but i had to mince it quite a lot which was annoying. anyways, after years of knitting and living in JP I am happy to announce.. there will be a knitting store opening on the corner of Centre St and S. Huntington! I am very excited about it! here is a link to their blog..It looks very cute and I am excited to check out their wares, stitch and knit!
On another JP note because it is my neighborhood, I was also sad to learn that Hi-Lo is closing. It has been a staple in the Latino Community here in Hyde Square for over 47 years.. it will be replaced by a Whole Foods.. I am not sure how I feel about it.. there was a great story on yesterday’s Morning Edition on WBUR, here is the link to that as well, Hi Lo
